Youth Reckless Driving Prevention

Last September, I blogged about some PSA's from the Ad Council and today, I'd like to post a couple of recent ads I've seen for Youth Reckless Driving Prevention featuring Fred Willard, Rachael Harris and Rob Riggle. Other than texting and driving and drunk (or even buzzed) driving, I think simply driving inattentively and thus poorly, is a big problem too.
I hope these commercials can make a difference. Here ya go...

Visit to find out more about this campaign.
Also visit to find out more about "buzzed driving." (They have some strong commercials airing now too, but I have yet to find them...)

More from Honda

Searching YouTube for another ad from Honda that I saw recently (driving in the snow), I found another ad for the Crosstour that I think is my favorite, "Snow Trip."  I also came across "Snow" and a couple other great ads from Honda ("Chocolate," "Coffee" and "Popcorn") for the CR-V from 2006... enjoy!

Accord Crosstour

There are two ads running for the new Honda Accord Crosstour that I really enjoy watching... here they are, "Instruments" and "Boxes." Great art direction!!

Find more from Honda on their YouTube page.

Super Bowl Preview 2010

Excited?  Me too!  To rev up your engines a little, here's 10 classic Super Bowl ads from (Tabasco's "Tanlines," towards the middle, is one of my favorites!)

Also, here's a list from Ad Age, "Who's Buying What in the Super Bowl 2010."  And to reminisce a bit, here's my post from two years ago, "Super Bowl ads 2008."

In the meantime, here's 2009's Doritos' Crash The Superbowl finalist, "Free Doritos" for your viewing pleasure...

Target in 2010 #2

Here are 3 more great ads from Target, airing this month!
...Now if I could only figure out what else the spokesman has been in! (Notting Hill??)

Target in 2010 #1

I said I'd blog more about Target in 2010, so here goes! Below are three ads I've seen lately for Target... Great color, music and as always, fun art direction! Enjoy :)

(The ad above aired during the Golden Globes)

Glee is coming to Japan!

Kenmore Elite Washer

There's a new commercial for the Kenmore Elite Washer.  The machine itself looks pretty high-tech (and I wonder how it compares to Samsung's washing machine).  Actually, the main reason I like this ad is that I love the fact that the co-star is a head-tilting pup.
Sooo cute!
...But not as cute as  my dog!  (Haha!)  See the commercial, and my dog below!

Cadillac - that song...

What's that song? Why does it always make me watch this commercial? (It's 1901 by Phoenix and I love it!) And the commercial is for the Cadillac SRX, below...

See more Cadillac commercials on their YouTube page.

Brighten Bay

Wondering where Elisa Donovan has been since Clueless? Me neither. But the other day I saw her as "Sandy" in a commercial for Cheer laundry detergent of all things, in a soap opera vignette for Brighten Bay. See "The Premier Episode" below (also featuring Cameron Mathison from All My Children as "Dr. Dan").

And here are two more episodes, "The Gambler"

Find more episodes on the Brighten Bay YouTube page.

Finally, here's a screenshot of

NBA Puppets

Why haven't I seen these before? The first ad below is the recent "We're Back" and the second two are from May and June of last year featuring Lil Dez. Very funny. I think I'm just a big fan of puppets!

Find more NBA puppet ads here...

Kaplan University

Kaplan University  has had an ad running for a while called  "Desks."  ...I really like the visuals:

There are also shorter 15 second spots: "What If," "College," "Beach," and "Mom."

Carnival, Chowder, Charles Schwab, Campbells, Tostitos, Diet Snapple, Ikea?

Have you seen the latest  Carnival Cruise Lines  commercial with the Dad acting out-of-the-ordinary? (bright colors, dad dancing, carrying mom piggy-back...) I'm not a big fan of the copy but the slow-mo art direction is great! I also really like their tagline: "FUN FOR ALL. ALL FOR FUN." I'll post it when I find it!

Also, what about  Progresso Soup's  newest spot about their Clam Chowder? Very funny. Maybe it will show up here eventually. (I blogged about some of their other ads last October.)

And then there's  Charles Schwab's  latest ad with all the colorful speech bubbles forming people's faces... I like this ad better than their older cartoon "Talk to Chuck" ads (using the Rotoscoping technique).

And the new  Diet Snapple  ad featuring the guy from State Farm's "Being Cool" and Amp'd?

What about the ad for  Campbell's Kids soups  with the kids playing on the different pasta shapes - rings, slides and swirls? (classic red background...)

And the  Ikea  ad where the couple plops down on their bed and scream into it (muffled screams with subtitles).

Finally, what about  Tostitos'  new salsa cartoon commercial with the girl who prances around slicing garlic, tomatoes and jalapenos? I really like the art direction of that one and also of some of their other ads which you can find here.

...Keep a look out for all of them!

I keep a list of commercials I see that I can't find online and every month or so, I go back and look for them again. One I still can't find is from BMW that I saw during December, promoting a "BMW Joy" savings event. There was a car powering through the snow and a big red bow at the end. I did manage to find, however, the commercials "Joy is BMW" and "Jump for Joy." They are both fun to watch and incredibly pleasing to the eye... EnJOY!

Great name!, a finance organization website... their slogan: "Begin your path to financial mastery. Achieve zendough™."

Here is one of their commercials, "Achieve zendough" (found on their YouTube page and made up of clips from other spots ("Peel Back the Curtain," "Zendough Garden," "Identity Jack," "Calculating Komodo" and "Coin Toss"):

And a screenshot of their website:

Real Men of Genius

After my recent post about the Bud Light "too light, too heavy" ads, I couldn't help but watch the "Real Men of Genius" ads again. Here are some of my favorites if you'd like to reminisce with me... "Mr. Really Really Really Bad Dancer," "Mr. Way Too Much Cologne Wearer," "Mr. Foot Long Hot Dog Inventor," "Silent Killer Gas Passer," "Giant Taco Salad Inventor," "Mr. Grocery Store Cart Wrangler" and "Mr. Pro Wrestling Wardrobe Designer."

Find a lot of the "Real Men of Genius" radio spots here.

Bud Light ads, dude...

Too Light?  Too Heavy?  ...I didn't like the new Bud Light commercials at first until I saw three of the recent ads, "The Monster Truck Arrival," "Air Strike" and "The Taxi."

Some of the other ones include "The Breakup," "Dog Training," "The Patron" and "The Boutoniere."

While we're on the subject of Bud Light, I'd like to go back for a moment and remember "Dude," one of my favorites from the brand...

If you want to see some more beer ads from Bud Light and other beers too (current and blasts from the past), visit  Looking forward to seeing what Bud Light has in store for the Super Bowl!

FedEx ads, yes!

In reverse: yes, FedEx ads... and all together now:

Hahaha. I like them. I like them a lot.

New Domino's Pizza

Rarely do I see commercials that are as direct, truthful and candid as Domino's latest commercial for their new and improved pizzas. I can't find the exact spot I saw online yet but below are two videos, the first is a trailer for "The Pizza Turnaround" (landing page= and the second is "The true story of how Domino's listened to its harshest critics and made their best pizza ever, starring actual Domino's employees" (both from Domino's YouTube page).

When I find the actual commercial I saw that prompted me to post today, I will add it. It simply tells people what other people we're saying about why they don't like Domino's pizzas and explains why and how the new pizzas are different. To quote Stephen Colbert, "It takes alpha meatballs to stand up and say, 'America, We Suck'" (see his segment about Dominos on Hulu here).
Now I just have to try it!

KGB William Tell Overture commercial, and others!

542542...  That's the number to text to get a 99 cent answer to your wildest question.  The service is run by the company, KGB.

They have a fun commercial airing now, "Everything Women Want to Know" featuring the William Tell Overture. This is the kind of commercial that I see and I wish I had gotten the chance to be there in the copywriting process... great choices of words in every clip!

(See below.)

I definitely like this ad better than the Knowledge Generation Bureau series from last year.

Here are two other funny ones:

"Baseball signs"

Find more commercials from KGB like "Mascots" on their YouTube page.

More from Disney Parks

In October of last year, I blogged about celebrities featured in ads for Disney Parks promoting community service. Here are three more I found on their YouTube page featuring actresses Sara Ramirez (from Grey's Anatomy) and Teri Hatcher (from Desperate Housewives) and also chef Cat Cora. They're great!  Enjoy!

Ellen for CoverGirl

I admit it. I'm an Ellen Degeneres fan.  She cracks me up.  And at first, I was shocked to see her in ads for CoverGirl's "Simply Ageless" with Olay collection.  But, after seeing a recent ad where she acts like an angry model, I think she's a good fit.  I can't find the ad yet, but for now, here's a funny outtake video!

I should also note that Drew Barrymore is one of my favorite spokesmodels for Cover Girl, and the new commercial for their Smoky ShadowBlast stick is colorful and beautiful to watch... I'll post that too when I can find it.

That looks like it smells really good...

Sometimes I wish tv's had smell-o-vision.
Check out Febreze's new Flameless Luminaries below and find out more at
Keep a look out for the commercial - I feel like I can almost smell the holiday scents on the screen!

Amp'd Throwback!

The recent ad from State Farm in an earlier post ("Being Cool") led me to search YouTube for an ad I loved and was obsessed with for a long time from Amp'd Mobile a few years back that might star the same actor... here's "Busted."

(You can find tons of imitation videos on YouTube!)

Windows phone ads

These ads have grown on me! Here's "Meetings Are Better With a Windows Phone," "Windows Phone On a Bus" and "Icons."

Find more videos about the Windows Phone on their YouTube page (below is a better introductory video, "Your Life, Your Way") and also check out for more technical commercials and videos by other electronic brands.

State Farm commercials

Saw an ad from  State Farm I really liked the other day,  "Being Cool"...

Browsing State Farm's YouTube page, I found some other ads I liked... Here's "Ritual," "Best Friend," "First Kiss" and "Money."

Allstate ads

I saw a funny spot from Allstate the other day, thought I'd share... here's "Steak Tartare."

I've also seen the heartwarming commercial, "The Best Things in Life," running lately too.

Lastly, a YouTube search led me to find an Allstate spot I enjoyed from a couple years ago, "Marina Towers" (not the best quality). Below it is a behind-the-scenes look at the commercial too.

GMC's belated holiday ad

I really liked "Nutcracker" from GMC last year but recently, there's an ad I like airing with the theme of "Let It Snow."

Here's "Nutcracker" to enjoy... I'll post the "Let It Snow" ad when I can find it.

And here's a slightly humorous recent ad, "Snowman," for GMC Acadia...

Finally, here's a snowy screenshot of GMC's website:

York Peppermint Patties

Has anyone seen the new commercial for York Peppermint PattiesIt's a simple ad with a woman eating a patty, a white background, close ups of the chocolate/mint, and of course, you hear the airy noise the candy makes when you break it in half. It makes me want one so bad!

Until I find the ad, here are some throwback Peppermint Patty ads:

Vizio's stunning tv ad

The title of this post says it all. Here is "Numbers" from Vizio:

Stride gum commercials

Ok. I love gum. And I've grown to love a few of the Stride gum commercials airing recently. Here are some of my favorites:

You can find more advertising from Stride on their YouTube page and their homepage... check out a screenshot below:

My favorite twenty posts...

Even though I started up this blog again in August of last year (which only gave me 5 months of posting in 2009), I thought I'd reminisce about my favorite posts of 2009!

(I think I made that very clear that it was my favorite!!)
