Found it! "Finders Keepers" (Digiorno)

Finally found the Digiorno pizza commercial (for their "Ultimate Toppings" pizza) I blogged about in November...
  Here it is, "Finders Keepers":

Going Bananas -- at Chicken Out??

If you're one of the millions of people whose New Year's resolution is to lose weight and/or eat healthier, here's a new way to indulge: the "Going Bananas" menu at Chicken Out.  ...It looks delicious!!!

Can't wait to try one!
(Might start off with "Pink Banana" and then upgrade to "Apples and Baninis")

Blue Moon's "Creation" ad

I've mentioned before, that a lot of the posts I write about ads I like are inspired by workouts at the gym. This is because with no sound, an ad stands out to me for some reason. Today's example: a Blue Moon commercial called "Creation." It's beautiful and artistic and creative. I especially like the very end. Watch it below (and also a behind-the-scenes video).

And check out some screenshots from BlueMoonBrewingCompany.com below, including an "Art Project" that looks like a good tie in to the "Creation" commercial.

Is Taco Bell the new Subway?

Decide for yourself (and get a coupon for a free Fresco taco) at DriveThruDiet.com.

PS- is it just me or does Christine look a little too skinny?  I wonder if it wasn't just the diet that helped her lose weight but also the general after-effects of Taco Bell food... hmmmmm....

See videos from Taco Bell on their YouTube page

On a different note, hopefully I'll be able to find and post a Taco Bell commercial about an "inside deal" for an 89 cent burrito I've seen running lately. I'm a bigger fan of that ad than this promotion.

Ads I DON'T LIKE, Part 2

This is my second "Ads I Don't Like" post.
Unlike the mobile LED billboards, there are some ads on the road that draw my attention in the wrong way. Unfortunately I can't find a photo, but down Route 7 (on my trip home) before Tysons Corner, there are some electronic warning signs (like the ones shown below) that local car dealerships are using to promote their sales. THEY MAKE ME REALLY ANGRY. I'm even thinking about complaining to the Virginia Department of Transportation. With all the weird weather we've been having, I look to those signs to see if roads or closed or to be notified of inclement weather...Anything else is just as "irrational" as the signs on IrationalSigns.com.

UPS ad spoofs

Somehow, with the ups and downs of Saturday Night Live in the recent years, I've managed to remain a loyal fan. Recently, they spoofed the brown marker and dry erase board ads from UPS... hilarious!
Watch them on Hulu  here and  here and see a screenshot below... Bill Hader is awesome.

Also, you can find some of the UPS ads on YouTube: "Distribution," "Small Business" and "Early AM Delivery."

Appleton Estate print ads

Relaxing on a couch in a food coma tonight after an indulgent meal at BLT Steak in Washington DC, flipping through a food magazine, perusing multiple epicurean articles (though I could hardly stand the thought of more food), I came across a fantastic ad for Appleton Estate rum (one of a series in a recent campaign).
Here are four ads from the campaign that I found on AdsOfTheWorld.com (a great site!) ...I am a huge fan of all four!!

Find out more about the campaign here and see more ads from Appleton Estate here.

Creative climate change ads

Go here for a great compilation...I enjoyed browsing this site for a good half-hour!

More from Reeses!

First thing I do when I see a commercial I like?  Type Youtube.com slash the brand's name into my browser.  Today's search: for Reeses' hors d'oeuvre holiday commercial.  Found it ... but not on YouTube.com/Reeses. (You'll find it below).

But I had to go back to Reeses' YouTube page... it was just so inviting! Maybe it was the bitten peanut butter cup peeking out from behind the videos that was so tantalizing, or maybe it was just all the videos on their page!  There, I found their "Reesponse videos" basically the brand's response to well-known viral videos such as "Oh the temptation" and their response below:

I also found "Fan-Made videos," videos about how fans eat Reeses, fan songs about Reeses, classic commercials and current commercials. Some of my favorite current ads: "PB&J," "Remote" (for Reeses Dark), "Global Warming," "Three Way," "Undressed" and "Sharing." And lastly, my two favorite throwback Reeses ads, the first for Reeses Pieces and the second for the cups...
   Enjoy all their deliciousness below!

Miss Dior commercial

There's a beautiful and sweet new ad running for Dior's Miss Dior Cherie perfume (song in French).
   Check it out below:

This commercial was directed by Sofia Coppola. The song is "Moi Je Joue" by Brigitte Bardot and the ad's star is model Maryna Linchuk. Here's a screenshot from Vogue.co.uk's article about the perfume itself highlighting a related print ad, and also a screenshot of the perfume's landing page focusing on a different print ad:

While searching YouTube for this spot, I also came across two other ads I like a lot for Toyota's iQ vehicle. I really enjoyed the art direction in the first (from Italy) and the second is just a really fun ad!

I also visited Toyota-iQ.it and found that the site also plays the same mellow (and catchy!) song as the one in the first ad, "Academia" by the artist Sia. (You can find more music from Sia on her MySpace page. She's also well-know for her song, "Breathe Me," which was featured in the final scene of the series finale of HBO's Six Feet Under.)

Reeses Puffs Dance Battle?

Reeses - Puffs - Dance - Battle? - WHAT?!
-- Exactly what I said! Log on to ReesesPuffs.com and enter a digital dance battle!  Customize your own dancer, pick your moves, music and background and watch your girl or dude bust it.  I'm surprised how much fun I had on the site playing around with my own characters and then rating others' jammin grooves ...Check out some screenshots of the site and my stylings below:

Target Holiday ads #2!

It's hard for me to believe that I haven't blogged more about Target this year (I'll have to focus on the brand more in 2010!)... these ads below (running this holiday season) represent Target's often bouncy attitude, uniqueness and their "that's gotta be a Target ad" approach to advertising that makes me adore the brand so fondly.

Recently, I saw "Is It Working?" (below) that inspired this post...

I also saw (and liked) "There Yet" the other day, below:

and here are three more good ones!
"Santa Running Late"

"D.I.Y. Toys"

"Dog v. Lights"

I'm also a fan of "Gift Exchange," "Crafty Christmas," "Made by Elves" and "Christmas is Served."  Again, you can find all these ads and more on Target's YouTube page.

Target Holiday ads #1

Although I included Target briefly in one of my holiday ad blogs in November, I had to mention the spots I saw for the 2-day sale that started the day after Thanksgiving. The first is my favorite!

There's also "Preparing" and "Wreath."
(Find more commercials from Target on their YouTube page.)

Boost Mobile's "Blowdryer"

Recently, Boost Mobile has been running a series of ads in a campaign called "Unwronged," featuring gross "Bicycle," creepy "Coroner" and my personal favorite, "Pigs" (which you can see at the end of this post).

For the holidays, now airing is a funny ad, "Blowdryer" (featured in Adweek's "Ad of the Day" post on December 1 - ad agency: 180 LA.)  Watch below!

And here's an alternate ending to the ad above. You can find more commercials and videos on Boost Mobile's two YouTube pages here and here. Also, here's a behind-the-scenes look at a newer "Unwronged" ad, "Santa Makes Cutbacks This Year" (featured in Business Wire).

Here is "Pigs"!

Find a behind-the-scenes of some of the other "Unwronged" commercials here.

Pyrex Commercials

There are some great ads on tv lately from Pyrex (I think I've only seen them on the Food Network) so far. I think they are really fun to watch! The ads can be viewed on Pyrex's website on their "TV Ads and Press" page. You can also find their print ads here.

The ad below, "Cooking Solved" was featured in Adweek's "Ad of the Day" post on November 17 (ad agency: Cramer-Krasselt). It's my favorite out of all of them.

There's also "Whisk," "Saucepan," "Glass Storage" and "Cheese Grater."

Below you'll find some screen shots of Pyrex's homepage and also of the ads themselves.

Lexus' December to Remember

There are three ads running this month for Lexus' "December to Remember" Sales Event that I really like. They're quiet, picturesque and heartwarming... Happy Holidays...

First, my favorite, "Cul-de-Sac"

Lastly, "Memory Lane"

Find more videos and commercials from Lexus on their YouTube page.

L.L.Bean Holiday 2009 Commercial

I am continually fascinated by the art direction in L.L.Bean's 2009 holiday ad, below...

Not a huge fan of the copy but I think this is a great commercial to watch. Find more videos from L.L.BeanPR YouTube page. This ad, titled "Snow Motion," was featured in Adweek's "Ad of the Day" post on December 14 (ad agency: GSD and M's Idea City).

And for a throwback, here's a holiday ad from LLBean from 2005!

Last Japanese ads (for a while)

So this is my final Japanese post for a while... at least for December! I hope the new year brings some inspiring ads from the U.S. and across the globe...

For now, here's some definitive Japanese commercial quirkiness. Tanoshimi! ("FUN!")
...again, most of these ads came from this YouTube site.

(Find another ad from Seiyu here - which I enjoy mainly because of the English song, sung by a Japanese man, in the background. Also, if you want to know why there are so many blonde girls in the first Seiyu ad, find out why this hue - I guess it's really orange - is all the rage here!)

Dishwasher freshener ("Beauty and the Beast")

(In Japan, you'll see a lot of people wearing face masks, especially on public transportation. They're also very common in the winter. People often wear them conscientiously when they're sick and as a sign of respect to others who might be close to them.)

Air Freshener (and a mermaid who needs it!!)

ja ne mata ne! bai bai!
(well then, see you later! goodbye!)

CartoonizeMe (again!)

Over the summer, I blogged about CartoonizeMe (by Portengo Apps).

I finally uploaded two pictures to show you what it can do...

before

after!

Mad Men Yourself!

This is a little late in the year to be blogging about this site (that was much more popular over the summer when one of my favorite shows, Mad Men was airing in its second season).

Searching through my My Pictures folder, I came across some screenshots from MadMenYourself.com and I'm still loving the idea so I thought I'd share some screenshots with you... enjoy and check the site out for yourself!!

Other Japanese ads #3

and the randomness continues!

(Two other Pocky ads here and here.)

(Another Limon and Nada (a Coca-Cola brand) ad here.)

Gyunyu ("milk") - "Kiss" and "That's What Milk Does"

(also for the "milk" - Gyunyu - brand... "Love Letter," "Cows" and "Lion")

-- most of the ads above come from PublicidadJapon on YouTube.

It's my 100th post (of 2009) !

And today I bring you...

I had a lot of fun playing with this last year and even more fun this year with the new country, disco, hip hop and singing themes! (You can post their holiday videos on your Facebook page or email them to your friends or download for $4.99. No free embedding, unfortunately.) See my screenshots below...

For more JibJab fun, put yourself in some holiday movies or holiday photos!

Other Japanese ads #1!

So somehow I was able to categorize the previous ads into a celebrity group, an edible group and now... I'm stumped!

Japanese commercials can be SO RANDOM that I'll just have to title this post: "OTHER!"

To start, below is an ad that out of all the commercials I've posted so far, is probably the most popular with non-Japanese viewers (and you know what? I have NO idea what this commercial is for!!!!!! ...the kanji characeters suggest this has something to do with construction.)

To keep things RANDOM, here are two ads for Toto (a Japanese brand of high-tech toilets), the first with penguins and the second for an "Apricot Washer"

And now, here's an ad for cell phone ringtone downloads

Below is another cell phone promotional spot (this one's from DoCoMo by NTT)

Finally, an unexpected ad from Fuji Film

Video game commercials Japanese style

Since Japan creates so many of the world's coolest video games, it's no surprise that a lot of their video game commercials are pretty cool too!  Check them out!

Sweet! Japanese candy commercials

Japanese candy is amazing!!  The selection you'll find at 7-11 for example is astounding. And they've got some yummy, weird and wacky flavors like cherry blossom, mango, kiwi, pineapple, cotton candy, red and yellow apple, kiwi, cream soda, cola, grapefruit, peach, dragon fruit, cantaloupe, blood orange, guava, lemon, lychee, cherry, pear, sour plum ("ume") and durian (ew!) and muscat (green grape, my favorite!) ...Sound good?  You can buy some great Japanese candy at AsianFoodGrocer.com!

Below are three craaazy candy ads. The first montage of ads is for Japanese Sours candy (delicious and very sour!). The second for chocolate almond candy (one of my favorite Japanese candies, this ad features super-famous Japanese singer Ayumi Hamasaki). And the last two commercials are for Mentos gum, the first one is from Japan (I think) and the second from China (I think!)
...My mouth is watering!!!!!

The ad above is a play on words... In Japanese, "to chew" is "kamu." But the closely related (identical when the verb is conjugated in the present form) word "kame" also means turtle!

Snoop Dogg goes German

One of my favorite celebrity rappers?  Snoop Dogg!
And with this month's international theme, here he is in a great German cell phone commercial!

More Japanese food commercials mmm!

WARNING: These commercials might make you want to jump into your computer screen and chow down!

Compuutaa o tabenai de! ...Don't eat your computer!
